We invite you to join an exciting hackathon designed to foster creativity and real-world business solutions by developing AI agents that communicate using Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Participants will explore the potential of AI agent interoperability through MCP, creating impactful web applications that showcase practical value and technical innovation. We recommend using OpenAI Agents SDK for ease of use, but participants may choose any suitable framework.

If you wish, we can assist your team in transforming your project into a business at any stage, help with choosing the country for company registration, expand the project to the international market, streamline accounting and reporting, interact with tax authorities, and more.

Hackathon Challenge

Your goal is to build a practical, commercially viable AI agent web application that effectively employs communication with at least one MCP server. While demonstrating technical innovation, your solution should clearly highlight its practical business value.

Examples of potential AI agents you can develop:

💡 Slack/Telegram Knowledge Base Assistant.

A chat agent in Slack or Telegram that answers employee questions by fetching from wikis, Notion, Google Drive, and other repositories. MCP unifies all knowledge sources, delivering consistent, context-aware responses across platforms.

💡 AI Sales CRM Assistant

A virtual sales aide that retrieves pipeline status, summarizes recent interactions, and drafts follow-up emails directly from your CRM. MCP handles CRM integrations so you can add new data sources without extra code.

💡 Customer Support Triage & FAQ Agent

An AI that classifies incoming tickets, fetches relevant help-center articles, and suggests replies or routes issues to the right team. MCP bridges your ticketing system and knowledge base for faster, more accurate resolutions.

💡 AI Meeting Summarizer & Task Tracker

Ingests meeting transcripts or recordings, generates concise minutes, and logs action items into Asana, Trello, or a similar task manager. MCP ties together transcription, summarization, and task creation into one seamless workflow.

💡 Competitive Intelligence Agent

Monitors competitor websites and news feeds, then summarizes market moves like new feature launches or press releases. MCP-powered browser automation and news connectors make it easy to add and manage multiple data sources.

💡 AI Software QA Tester

Executes natural-language test scenarios (e.g., “Log in, navigate to dashboard, verify chart”) via a Playwright MCP server and reports pass/fail results. MCP abstracts browser control, letting teams build and iterate on tests without writing scripts.

💡 AI Email Inbox Assistant

Summarizes long threads, highlights urgent messages, drafts replies from voice notes or bullet points, and schedules meetings based on availability. MCP’s email and calendar connectors ensure seamless integration and preserve full conversational context.

These examples are to inspire creativity - participants are encouraged to explore any impactful applications where MCP integration can add significant business value.

Deliverables

Participants must submit:

1. Working Web App:

A functional web application (including Telegram bots or mini-apps) demonstrating effective interaction with at least one MCP server. You may use existing MCP servers or develop your own for the hackathon. If your application uses MCP to access external services (e.g., Google Sheets, Trello), you must provide a demo account for judges, ensuring they do not need to use their personal accounts.

2. Source Code Repository:

All submissions must adhere to the following rules regarding the repository:

  • Use GitHub exclusively for source code hosting.

  • Grant organizers access to the repository within the first 24 hours of the hackathon.

  • Include only previous code in the first commit if starting from an existing codebase.

  • Maintain a clear README.md file and place it in the root directory of the repository, along with presentation.pdf (project presentation).

  • Commit changes regularly to document progress during the hackathon (avoid committing large code pieces at once). Be prepared to verify authorship and timing of the code if requested by the jury.

  • No commits are allowed after the hackathon deadline.

The repository must contain:

  • The complete source code developed during the hackathon.

  • A README.md file (following the format below).

  • A presentation.pdf file containing the final pitch presentation.

README.md Format:

1. Project name

2. URL of the working web app

3. Link to presentation.pdf in the repository

4. Link to a video screencast

5. History section clearly describing:

  • Any pre-existing code or assets used, along with their purpose and scope.

  • The new work completed during the hackathon.

  • If no pre-existing code or assets were used, clearly state that the project was developed entirely from scratch.

3. Final Pitch Presentation:

Submit a presentation explaining:

  • How the solution addresses a business problem.

  • Its scalability and market potential.

  • Demo outputs that demonstrate the app’s effectiveness in solving real-world business problems.

Judging Criteria

  • Innovation: Originality of new features or contributions developed during the hackathon.

  • Business Impact: Clear demonstration of the commercial potential of the solution, including a solid business case and market analysis.

  • Feasibility & Scalability: How easily the solution can be scaled and deployed in real business environments.

  • Technical Performance: Effective and efficient use of MCP server communication.

  • Clarity & Persuasiveness of Presentation: How effectively the solution and its business value are communicated.

Timeline

The hackathon will take place over a period of 7 calendar days, starting from 09 June, 2025 to 16 June, 2025.

Technical Requirements

  • Participants' work must use at least one MCP server.

  • Participants are responsible for their own access to an LLM (e.g., GPT 4.1) and server hosting.

  • OpenAI Agents SDK and GPT 4.1 are recommended but optional.

Source Code Rules

1. Participants may use:

  • Their own source code written before the hackathon.

  • Third-party source code for which they have usage rights (e.g., open-source).

  • Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate code.

2. Only new code developed during the hackathon will be judged. Pre-existing code must:

  • Be included in the first commit.

  • Be described in the History section of the README.md file.

3. Starting from scratch is not a disadvantage, as judging focuses exclusively on new contributions.

Intellectual Property Rights

  • All rights to the solution developed during the hackathon, including source code, documentation, and other materials, remain with the team.

  • Teams are free to use, share, or commercialize their work without restrictions.

Support

Participants can seek guidance and ask technical questions through the dedicated Telegram chat.
